About our podcast

Every year at the Portland EcoFilm Festival, we receive more and more incredible environmental, Indigenous, and place-based films from around the living world. This means that more and more filmmakers are turning their time, talents, imaginations, and other resources towards telling important stories for life on Earth.

Our new, first-of-its-kind GLOBAL ECOLOGICAL CINEMA PODCAST uplifts this global community of ecological filmmakers and connects audiences more expansively with their important films

Premiering in March 2026, our Global Ecological Cinema Podcast features nuanced, in-depth conversations with filmmakers, cultural luminaries, and film participants about fascinating intersections of ecology, cinema, and filmmaking. Most episodes accompany official selections and special presentations that grace screens of the independent cinemas where we share these important films.

In addition to links where you can listen to episodes on various streaming services, each episode page features a transcript of the show in English and Spanish—as well as detailed show notes and ecological film recommendations from our amazing guests.

Find it here—and wherever else you get your podcasts.
