We will begin accepting applications to join our 2027 Film and Awards Selection Community in March, 2026.

• The main requirements are: a passion for and knowledge of cinema and ecology; the ability to articulate opinions about films in (written) english; and a strong desire to participate.

• People of all ages living everywhere are eligible to apply.

• Filmmakers and people working on ecology and place-based storytelling are encouraged to apply.

• The rolling application period begins on March 1, 2026.

• Period of service begins when you are invited to join the committee (duration of service depends on your availability).

• The final date to review films will be on or around November 1, 2026 (TBA).

• Minimum time commitment is 30 hours (20 hours for filmmakers).

• Community members receive several “perks,” including free admission to all Portland EcoFilm Festival screenings, invitations to community gatherings and events, and more!
